Tomorrow the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section Council and the Young Lawyers Division are presenting a panel on “The Nuts and Bolts of the MCAD.”
Learn how to take an employment discrimination case through the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) from both commission staff and experienced employment attorneys. The panel will walk you through MCAD processes and procedures, advise you on best practices, and provide you with the information you need to successfully manage a case at the MCAD. Topics include:
- Case selection
- Forum selection
- Investigation
- Mediation and conciliation
- Hearings
- Appeals
Commissioner Sunila Thomas George; Connie McGrane, MCAD General Counsel; Geri Fasnacht, MCAD Enforcement Unit Supervisor; Anthony Califano of Seyfarth Shaw; and James Weliky, Partner at Messing, Rudavsky, and Weliky are all on the panel.
The program will be held at the MBA’s Boston office (20 West St., Boston, MA, 02111) from 2-5pm tomorrow, March 10th. It is geared towards attorneys new to the MCAD and will explain processes and procedures starting from case selection all the way through to the appeals process.
