Sizzling Summer Presentations and Honors
We’ve had a busy summer at MRW! In addition to our continuing advocacy for workers’ rights in Massachusetts, our attorneys have been hard at work sharing their expertise on the local, state, and national level:
Jim Weliky shared his expertise on Employment law counterclaims at the Boston Bar Association’s program: “Employment Counterclaims: What They are, When to Bring Them and When Not To.”
Ellen Messing first presented a session here in Boston at the Massachusetts Bar Association 38th Annual Labor & Employment Conference on the latest significant developments in labor and employment law.
Then she traveled to sweltering San Antonio to moderate and present at a session on avoiding the pitfalls of self-help discovery in employment litigation at the annual Convention of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
On the legal front, Dahlia Rudavsky and Ellen Messing secured a major victory before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. In a case involving nurses defamed by Steward Health Care, the SJC set a precedent, announcing a new legal test favorable to individuals, including employees, who are publicly maligned by their employers.
